HSRM are able to offer a special IOSH Management of Buried Services course at Vac Ex, Doncaster as the training location. Working with Vac Ex, we have ensured that Vacuum Excavation is part of the solution when deciding on protection measures when risk assessing work around services. Usually this involves discussion and videos. But with the new location delegates will be able to physically see the widest range of equipment and talk to the manufacturer about the correct and safe deployment of the equipment. The course will cover the usual elements of service avoidance. Legal requirements, sourcing drawings, use of CAT’s but the extra dimension will enhance the risk assessment section. Delegates will also be able to understand not just the safety improvement but the commercial benefits as well. Understanding how to build a better business case for their use.
Benefits
Currently there are a large number of Vacuum Excavators deployed in the UK ranging from lorry mounted vehicles to trailer mounted and small self propelled equipment. Delegates will have the opportunity to discuss in depth equipment and scenarios relevant to their industries. This includes working in the rail environment and asbestos contaminated grounds.
Our training
At HSRM we are dedicated to teach skills in our courses and not train people to just pass an exam. Using the knowledge of our experienced trainers who have held senior positions in global companies we seek to use real life examples and interaction to enhance the learning process. By working with delegates through structured courses and with knowledge of the industries we work in we are comfortable in assuring the delegates that they will learn new skills and methods in avoiding underground services.
Our experience has been in close working relationships with utility providers, insurance companies, contractors, surveyors and equipment manufacturers. With the combined knowledge of all of the involved parties and our experience we can offer a unique course. With lots of real life examples we can bring the course to life with decision making about real scenarios a delegate is likely to face.
